On August 4, 2016, China Machinery Industry Federation organized and held a nuclear grade (1E class K3) UPS (including charger and inverter) equipment appraisal meeting jointly developed by avic-tec (Xiamen) Power Technology Co., Ltd. and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. in Xiamen. The appraisal committee unanimously agreed that the equipment is the first 1E class K3 UPS equipment of a nuclear power plant with full analog control circuit technology in China, It has filled the domestic gap, and its main technical indicators have reached the advanced level of similar international products.

Nuclear grade UPS (including charger and inverter) equipment is an important control and protection power supply equipment of nuclear power plant, which is responsible for supplying power to important loads such as DCS and core control system RPN of nuclear power plant, and plays an important role in the safe and stable operation of nuclear power plant. Unlike conventional power projects, UPS equipment in nuclear power projects have higher requirements in terms of reliability, safety, maintainability, etc., especially nuclear grade UPS (including charger and inverter) equipment needs to pass strict quality appraisal to ensure high reliability of equipment. Due to the monopoly position of foreign equipment manufacturers in the nuclear power market, at present, among the nuclear power projects in service and under construction in China (including all projects of CNNC, CGN and SDIC), nuclear grade UPS (including charger and inverter) equipment has always been dependent on imports, which is one of the few electrical equipment that has not been localized, seriously restricting the autonomous construction of nuclear power projects in China.

In order to improve the supporting capacity of China's nuclear power equipment, improve the industrial chain of nuclear power projects, and further promote the process of autonomy of nuclear power projects, as a giant in the nuclear power industry, CGNPC and avic-tec, a well-known company in the field of industrial power supply, jointly develop nuclear grade UPS that meet the standards.

The appraisal meeting was organized by China Machinery Industry Federation. The appraisal committee was composed of more than ten senior experts from the nuclear and radiation safety center of the Ministry of environmental protection, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, state power investment group, National Technical Committee for standardization of power electronic systems and equipment, China Nuclear Power Engineering Corporation, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Power Jiangsu Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., Guangdong Electric Power Design and Research Institute and other units. The experts listened carefully to the summary report of the project development work of avic-tec, reviewed the relevant appraisal data, inspected the production workshop of avic-tec and witnessed the test of the main technical indicators of the equipment on site, and finally formed the appraisal opinions. At the same time, leaders and experts from Xiamen Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of economy and information technology, Haicang District government and relevant test and appraisal units also participated in witnessing this important moment.
